The coloring, the patterns, the LACE. H-HOW. 8A8 (This is fantastic, by the way! Just…oh my goodness, that coloring is wonderfulllll)
Thank you! Just for you (uh, and the other people who commented on the lace) I thought I’d show how I did it. It was something I’ve sort of done before with solid “fill” patterns, like the bat pattern in the same picture.
The lace drawn here was done by hand- I drew the initial shape, cut-and-paste it into a larger set of flowers, filled in the gaps with a few extra leaves and vines and added the sketchy lines to give it the look of being, well, lace. Since it was drawn on a transparent layer, there’s no white space between the lines when it gets pasted into place in the picture I’m working on.
This is what it looks like (with just the linework underneath). I used the “transform” tool to adjust the angle of the lace as I pasted each piece in, filling in the outlines I’d drawn beforehand. It’s not perfect, as the pattern doesn’t ripple like real lace would, but I felt that at the size it would be appearing, that amount of detail would probably be lost anyways. Also, I’m lazy.
It took a little painstaking editing to get shadowing on/off the lace, and I added a bit more highlighting using an “overlay” layer on top so that it would have a slightly shiny look.

Finally got around to gussying up a sketch I’d done a while ago and liked. I tried a new technique for adding detailed lace to a picture this time around, and I kind of like how it turned out! I always love adding frills with a character’s personal symbols to their costumes, so Moria’s lace has a datura/moon flower design, along with the bat brocade on his vest and the antique scissors on his belt buckle.
It makes me a bit sad to realize that the derpy ‘ask’ blog I’d started as a side project will probably have more followers than my personal art blog soon, but nuts. I’m drawing what I enjoy, and that’s what matters.
Trying to practice drawing from reference and drawing flowers. I have a really hard time drawing these days if I don’t start out with a concrete idea, so I’m happy to have done anything by just sitting in front of the computer and going “I MUST ART”.

Hanazawa Kengo’s (ongoing) “mangaka VS zombie apocalypse” horror manga, I Am A Hero. No matter where the story goes from the point that I’ve read to, I just have to say that the artwork in this comic is beautiful and that it’s had a lot of nice Sean of The Dead-esque moments of disassociated confusion from the hero so far. And manga industry-related ranting. And both at the same time.
This is kind of an awful mess, but nuts. If I can think of a way to make it look better, I’ll go back to it later.

If “pornographization” isn’t a real word, it is now. Also, for those not in the know, it was confirmed some time back that Moria is still alive and well. Take that, haters!
I was diddling around with that pokemon fusion thing and found a cross so horrible that I had to draw it. This one even seems to be screaming, “Why, Bill?! WHYYYYY???”
It broke my heart to check out that Pokemon Fusion generator and find out that I could not create my favorite crossbreed of all time.
More highlights from Fourteen. I think that this might just take the cake as the most incoherent manga I have ever read.
Umezu Kazuo’s horror manga, Fourteen. This is the most quality of manga, that carefully skirts the line between “terrifying” and “hilariously retarded”. And it stars a character named “Chicken George”. Read it if you like chickens.
Finished version of the picture of Moria making it with his shadow clone. I changed his expression because I thought the “lip-biting” look was less goofy, even it it makes him look less like he’s enjoying himself and more like he’s realizing why Kuma always prefers to top.
I’ve been struggling to come up with good ideas for porn pictures. It’s not that the thought of drawing cartoon buttsex no longer appeals to me, but when I do a gooshy, full-colour picture, I want to push myself in terms of staging and pose and come up with something that helps me improve my abilities as an artist.
Or I can just draw something cheesy like this.
